The Westin New York Grand Central

MLG provided architectural services for the renovation and repositioning of the former Helmsley Hotel to the Westin New York Grand Central. Renovations included all 40 floors of 830 guestrooms, reprogramming and relocating amenities, infrastructure upgrades, ADA upgrades throughout, select façade renovations and a new elevator. A large portion of the renovation included the reconfiguration of the ground floor lobby, where analysis of FAR (Floor Area Ratio) found 16,000 square feet of unbuilt floor area, which was used for the expansion of the hotel lobby level toward the street and the creation of Rande Gerber's LCL Bar Restaurant.
